Dr. Heather Ward Oliver is a native of Salyersville, Kentucky. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Morehead State University in 2009 and her Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University in 2013. After graduation she underwent further training in laser and advanced surgical procedures with Oklahoma’s Northeastern State University.
Dr. Oliver completed internships specializing in pre and post-op management of cataract and LASIK surgery in Orlando, Florida and treatment of glaucoma and dry eye disease in San Antonio, Texas. She has also completed internships in co-managing retinal diseases, contact lenses, pediatrics, and low-vision. While Dr. Oliver practices full-scope optometry, she is especially interested in primary eye care, glaucoma management, dry eye, and contact lenses.
Dr. Oliver is a member of the Kentucky Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She is also a member of the 2015 Kentucky Optometric Association Young Leadership Class.
She resides in Nicholasville with her husband, Dr. Philip Oliver, her son, Paxton, and their mini Goldendoodle, Maggie.
